The topic I chose to use as my pro-con assignment is abortion. I am very passionate and concerned on this topic. My article was about how pro-life groups don't support Obama's decision on funding abortions. Obama's health care plan includes the funding of abortion. ("President Obama campaigned as a pro-choice president, but his actions today suggest that his commitment to reproductive health care is shaky at best. ... We see now that we have our work cut out for us far beyond what we ever anticipated. The message we have received today is that it is acceptable to negotiate health care on the backs of women, and we couldn't disagree more," the group said.) A quote from the article. Many groups do not agree with this decision and feel that funding abortions is a bad idea. This article basically provides quotes from groups who believe that funding for abortion in the health care plan is not right.
